Contemporary design meets traditional making.

Artistic design makes our putters beautiful

The first step of designing a beautiful putter is research. We find inspiration in many different places, from classical art to the automotive industry, from nature to science. When we have an idea we like we put pencil to paper and sketch out different ideas.

When we have a design we like we start to engineer the putter. Not only does the engineering create a great performing club, it also drives the design in a new direction, creating something that is a perfect synthesis of beauty and function.

handmade with traditional & contemporary methods

We hand make each and every putter head using a combination of traditional and contemporary methods using only the finest locally sourced materials.

precise engineering makes our putters perform

We use paper drawings in the early stages of our design and then move to 3D rendering as we get closer to a final design. Most importantly we produce real life prototypes to give us an idea for how the clubs will look and feel in their finished state.

wooden mallet

Our putters have a unique design that utilises the natural properties of the timber. Inspired by wooden mallets used in carpentry for centuries, the striking face of the putter is what is known as the endgrain of the wood. Doing this means a softer impact when striking the ball, which translates to an end over end roll and reduced skidding.

Weight and balance

All of our putters are weighted with brass which provides the weight and balance required to generate power when needed but also to maintain control for those shorter putts. The brass is vertically centred which reduces skidding and spans a large width of the face which gives a larger sweet spot to strike with.

Our hosels

All of our hosels are individually engineered with the precise lie angle and offset to give a face balanced putter with a sightline directly over the ball. We also do custom hosel angles for those who prefer a toe-hang balance.

Our hosels are produced in bronze, brass or stainless steel which gives them an eye catching look.

The look

Putting is truly an art form. As any great golfer will tell you, confidence is half the battle. We believe that having a putter that not only performs well but also looks beautiful will give you the confidence to putt to the best of your abilities.

The grip

All of our grips are made from genuine leather which has incredible gripping properties, does not degrade with normal use, and because it is perforated is nice and cool during those warm days on the green.

And they look good too.

The cover

Our covers are handmade by The Leather Workshop based here in Minehead, Somerset. Each one is hand cut from premium leather before it is gold or silver foil embossed. It is lined with fine suede to protect the putter and the hand stitched to a snug fit.

WE SUPPORT LOCAL PRODUCERS AND MAKERs

Wood

Quality costs a little bit more but it's worth it.

At Morrison Bros. we pay a premium so that we get the best quality timber that has the lowest impact on the environment. All of our wood is locally sourced, or reclaimed from unused items. We use a variety of local saw mills to buy timber which is all fully FSC certified..

This way we support local small businesses like ourselves, we reduce the impact on the environment, and we insure the highest quality timber is used in all of our putters.

LEATHER

All of our putter covers are handmade to our design by another small business based locally in Somerset.

We work with only the best makers and because they are local we can have a face to face relationship where we can see their process from start to finish. It also allows us to see where they source their materials and the final product is never out of our control.

Working together with other local makers keeps craft and small businesses alive.

METALS

The hosels for our putters are all custom made to our design by a machinist based locally here in Somerset as well.

Working on his own he machines each component individually before we assemble them onsite to our desired specifications. Each of our hosels are made from brass, bronze or steel which is all sourced locally in the UK.
